Why Rod Ends ?

It’s a matter of steering precision. In the case of motorsport this is of the utmost importance. The car should go exactly where the driver wants it to go. It should also respond as soon as possible to each command given by the steering wheel. To make this possible, rod ends are fitted to the vehicle suspension. Rod ends effectively replace pins, steering rods, silent blocks and rubber or polyurethane bushings.

Why are rod ends, used in every motorsport discipline around the world, better than other solutions? Because they produce much lower friction than rubber and polyurethane bushings. That’s why the suspension works more smoothly and better absorbs any unevenness of the road. They are also extremely rigid – all play is eliminated – to allow for precision driving. In addition, the threaded end allows one to adjust the length of the element in which they are used.
